Going digital

Digital TV is coming so what do you need to do?

In fact most households are already getting digital TV. After switchover, almost everywhere will be able to receive digital terrestrial television. And elsewhere there will be satellite or cable/phone line services.

Here we tell you what might and might not work for you. This depends on where you live, your technical know how, how you’re hoping to use your TV and how much cash you’re looking to spend.

There are three main things to think about:

If you are keen not to spend a lot, see our costs guide.

If you are 75 or over or have a significant disability, see the help scheme.

Confused by all the technical terms around? Use our jargon buster.
