Ricability / the test programme
How are the products tested?
Testing has been carried out by Ricability, working in partnership with
Intertek RPT at Milton Keynes, one of Europe’s foremost consumer
product testing centres. For information on what our tests involved see Test Methods.
The Digital TV testing programme and this consumer website were funded by the Government to support the UK digital TV switchover. The test programme, which started in 2006, is now drawing to a close and no new products will be tested after December 2011.
This website will however continue throughout 2012. Prices and product availability will be checked and updated every 6 weeks.
Who is Ricability?
Ricability is the Research Institute for Consumer Affairs, founded by
Which? more than 40 years ago. We are a national research charity dedicated
to providing strictly independent consumer research and information.

What products have you tested?
We’ve tested a range of the digital TV products you’ll
find in the shops and those provided by satellite and cable companies.
This includes digital TVs, set top boxes, digital TV recorders and indoor
aerials. We tested only products that are intended to be available in
the shops for a reasonable period of time.
Availability of products and prices
We check availability of products and update prices every 6 weeks.

reports.
