This is a single tuner digital TV recorder with Freeview. It records onto external USB memory sticks rather than onto an internal hard drive, no memory stick is provided. There are three sockets and these also allow copying from one memory stick to another. Recordings on the memory sticks can also be played back on a PC. It can display and record audio description. The recorder was able to pause live TV but not able to immediately rewind a programme.

This is a versatile and easy to set-up and use Freeview digital TV recorder. The remote control is well labelled and laid out. The TV guide is intuitive displaying 11 channels at one time. The on screen menus are clear and simple to navigate. But it does not support audio description, lacks front panel controls and takes a long time to boot up from stand-by.

Shiny black versatile recorder that can receive BBC iPlayer and video on demand programmes via the internet, mostly at a cost to download them, and it has Freeview+ features like series recording. Intuitive to install and a good quick start guide, but difficult to use. The remote control had small, squashed buttons, including the navigation keys; on screen menus and the cluttered TV guide were difficult to read because of show through; and recording processes were unintuitive. Standby power consumption was high. Recent software updates have also provided Remote Recording through online access and Sky Player that allows access to Sky TV via the internet.

Compact PVR with series recording and accurate recording times features but no favourite channels groups. Easy to install and versatile and intuitive to use, with well laid out and labelled remote control. TV guide not easy to read — overlaid on the television picture and some poor colour contrast.

A standard Aerial PVR that with a subscription can also receive Top Up TV channels. Plenty of features including series link and accurate recording time and a slot that can take a card reader for pay TV channels. Well laid out and colour contrasted remote control but quite bulky. Cramped on-screen menu and automatic pop-up programme information on the TV guide that obscures the listings, which are slow to fill up. High standby power consumption.

Versatile PVR with series link and accurate recording time features. Well prompted TV Guide, though a bit busy, easy to set and select favourites and straightforward to record. Poor instructions manual with text too small and squashed, unclear diagrams and generally lacked detail. Power consumption was low if eco mode was selected.

This is a versatile and easy to set-up and use Freeview digital TV recorder. The remote control is particularly well designed benefitting from a logical layout and good labelling. The TV guide is easy to navigate but can be difficult to read because the TV picture can be seen behind the guide. It has no favourite channels option and no front panel controls. RECOMMENDED.

This is a Freeview hard drive TV recorder with twin tuners. The multiple input connections provided (3 HDMI and 2 analogue video) means other TV equipment (eg video player) can be connected to it. A single HDMI lead is then all that is required to connect it to the TV. This is convenient if your TV lacks multiple input connections or is wall mounted. An HDMI lead is supplied. The TV recorder is generally easy to install and use. The remote control is particularly well designed, benefitting from a logical layout and good labelling. The TV guide is simple to navigate but can be difficult to read because the TV picture can be seen behind the guide. The box can be temperamental and does not support audio description.

A Freeview+ recorder with series recording, conflict resolution and a viewing card slot for pay TV and TopUpTV service, but let down by some niggles. Slow to retune, annoying pop up programme information in the TV guide, on screen menus lacked prompts and no favourite channel groups. The remote control was well laid out and labelled, but was quite bulky to hold and had some slippery buttons. Standby power consumption was high.

A twin tuner digital TV recorder with Freeview+ features and a useful front panel display but no front panel controls. It can receive TopUp TV so extra programmes can be downloaded and was supplied with a viewing card. It has no favourite channels option. The TV Guide was not considered easy to use. Power consumption is very high when left in standby.
