Easiest to use 32" iDTVs

Of the 32” iDTVs on test – all LCDs – the Panasonic TX-32LXD85, costing £749, Panasonic TX-32LXD700, £773 and Panasonic TX-32LXD7, £650 stood out as the easiest to use and were easy to install. All three were well designed products with well laid out remote controls, intuitive to navigate on-screen menu and versatile TV guides. All were HD ready – like most iDTVs now, and these models can handle audio description – unlike most other makes of iDTV currently on the market. (AD is a commentary on the action, transmitted with some programmes for people who can’t see the screen – see audio description.) So there is not much to choose between these three good TVs. Check our test reports for the features you particularly want.  Panasonics are not cheap but the D7 is the lowest priced, it and the D700 provide two extra HDMI sockets and the recently tested D85 uses the least power.  However its sound quality is not quite as good as the others and its TV guide has a bit less channel information per screen because it carries advertising.
