Best indoor aerials

Our tests show that with any of these five aerials you have the best chance of getting good reception.

These two Telecams had the highest score in our home trials, giving a good picture on almost all channels in each room. This was backed up by the technical tests which showed good reception over a wide range of frequencies.

A well-designed amplifier can make a difference where reception is nearly there but the picture is breaking up. However, the good value Telecam TCE2000 performed so well that in most locations it hardly needed the boost that the amplifier in the Telecam TC2001 gave.

The two One for Alls above did well in the house trials and had good bandwith. They are flat panel aerials that can be fixed to the wall. The SV 9340 also doubled as a free standing picture frame, with a rear support.

The Philips 45dB SDV4240/05 also scored well in the home trials and had fairly good sensitivity overall, but measured better for some channels than others.

The following five are also worth considering but may not give good reception if your location gets weak signals.

See Contacts for websites and telephone numbers to find out about stockists for all the aerials tested.
